Marketing can be daunting, expensive (if little or no research is done) and can take a long time. It doesn't have to be this way. You don't have to struggle alone in the dark and certainly it doesn't have to take as long as you think. All it takes is; Asking Better Questions and a few nudges in the right direction. And I am here to help you.

Let's build your marketing strategy today. Simply explain your product or service in a few sentences (include website links and pictures if possible), along with who your product is targeted at (age, male or female, technical or retail etc) and let me come up with a strategy for you right here - right now!

Other experts are welcome to add their input as well to assist you in creating a tangible, achievable and doable marketing strategy that sets the ball in motion and gets the phone ringing.

Looking forward to hearing about your company or service!

Hi Jade,

I'll kick this one off.

I have just created a premium web directory service where accounting, bookkeeping and payroll specialists in SA can list their companies, services etc.

My target market is twofold - firstly I would like to attract accountants etc to list with us and secondly drive business owners to the site who are in the market for these types of services.

Site is national, so in terms of geographical that would include all 9 provinces.

Here's the link to my website www.bookkeepersonline.co.za (I have also just registered accountantsonline.co.za - which is inactive at the moment).

Looking forward to your comments.

Cheers
K

So quite similar to www.findanaccountant.co.za ?
You're going to need to do some seo - i don't see relevant title tags etc.
http://www.MSBonline.co.za - Web design, hosting, internet marketing & CRM
http://www.MSBaccounting.co.za - Pastel accounting & bookkeeping services.
http://www.ecohub.co.za - Natural health & wellness

Hello Kim,

Thank you for your feedback. I've had a look at your site and must say that it is certainly a great idea and has huge marketing potential.

Here we go!

I would start off by approaching universities and colleges that train up accountants and I would offer the university a free training course to the 'soon to be graduates' on what to do when graduating (where to look for jobs, what to wear, how to update their CV's etc). Granted this might not be your direct forte, but if you seen as the expert in assisting graduates - they will certainly make the key association in their mind that your company is the 'go-to' when looking to be ideally contracted out to a company (either permanently or temporary).

Then, companies normally have a permanently employed person handling their bookkeeping and accounts, so you have to get them when they need you. Create a mailer advertising that you have temporary staff that can fill in during leave (for maternity, personal responsibility or even for holidays) and then send that out to clients.

To take a closer step, we could focus only on maternity leaves. And create a marketing campaign specific to expectant mothers who are also accountants or bookkeepers. I would create an advert and place this in a magazine (geared at accounting and bookkeeping as well as mother and baby oriented magazines) advertising that you will step in when they need to take a break.

Please let me know your thoughts, I value your feedback.
Until next time; Happy Marketing!

You might wonder why I am suggesting stepping in when Bookkeepers go on maternity leave - here's why! Normally expectant mothers are very reluctant to return to their working life after starting a family, which is the precise moment when companies will look to employ someone (and normally need someone quite quickly. Who better than to contract someone in who helped out a few months back during the maternity leave? And who best would be contacted to step in again if and when needed.

If I understand your business correctly, you contract out bookeepers on a permanent or temporary / contract basis. And correct me if I am wrong, but you are going to have to start building a reputation in the corporate arena - building a brand that will make companies think of you when they need you. And if I understand you correctly, you contract personnel to companies for temporary periods or on an annual basis for tax returns etc.

Thank you again, and I look forward to hearing from you ;)

PS: Regarding the University graduates - obviously you would have some sort of application form for the graduates to fill in on the day and at the end of your discussion - so that you can add them to your website :)

I would definitely recommend on page SEO as well as organic search, final step from there would be integrating into social networks

Please feel free to pm me to chat about this

Hey Jade

I've recently created a website entitled TGNN

TGNN delivers up-to-date information, analysis, and services catered to enthusiasts and professionals in the IT sector, specifically the IT Sector of South Africa.

TGNN target market are males between the ages of 16-50, with an interest for PC Hardware, technology, gaming and gadgets.

Just like Kim's website TGNN is national so it would include all 9 provinces in terms of geographical marketing.

Here's a link to TGNN : tgnn.co.za/

Looking forward to your feedback

Regards,
Shimal
