Hi

We've just spent a lot of time reworking the mysmallbusiness.co.za website. We've focused much more on the community aspect as opposed to the selling of products and services.

Any ideas on how we can get more people interacting in our forum, listing in the directory, writing articles and networking with each other?

Your input will be much appreciated.

Hi Dylan,
I have always believed in being the brand that you sell. So, the more time YOU spend on your website(modifying, networking, generating ideas), the more your website will yield the required results.
I would really like to see myself contributing positively to these types of initiatives :cheer:

Agreed, but this is a community website and as such I want input from you - the community ;)

So - rather obvious points which have been brought up, or which I have previously considered would be:

Getting University students involved

- Only the business departments?
- How do we engage them?
- What value proposition do we give them? Will it improve their experience? Perhaps their active profile on here could help them when they send their CV's out, looking for a job?

Getting schools involved

Nick mentioned getting schools involved, running entrepreneurship competitions? How should we structure this? one school at a time, or all schools in a city etc?

What other ideas do you have?

I have decided rather not to discuss this publicly.

For those of you that are interested in the development of mySmallBusiness.co.za - join our group where we will privately discuss the direction of the site.
