I wonder if someone would be able to guide me. I have an opportunity to quote for a dedicated courier service. I have no idea where to start, but I need to get it right in order to get the business away from the company currently servicing my potential client. It's a friend of a friend, but they refused to tell me how their current courier operates because they want a fresh approach from me.
The service involves picking up mostly promotional stands in the Johannesburg area and delivering them to either Cape Town and Durban. The requirements is that I need to basically jump when they call, pick it up and make sure it is delivered immediately. The service will be a dedicated one only for this specific client. It might involve setup of the stands too. I then come back to Jhb and wait for another call. I gathered that the current provider charges them unto R15 000 a trip.
I have a new Nissan NP200 bakkie with the option to hire a trailer if needed. How do I work out a quote. I have done the running cost via the AA website. I am mostly stuck on the profit margin for such a specialised and dedicated service.
Any help will be appreciated.
